I love basketball. I love magazines. Thus Bounce. It’s from the playground. For players, by players. Because you can play high school for four years, college for four years, maybe even go pro for 20. But the playground is yours for life.
This is how Bounce happened: After I got fired from Blaze, I was chilling down in Houston, Texas, doing my own thing. Charisse Lambert, who I used to work with at Blaze, said we should write a book about the Entertainers Basketball Classic up at Rucker Park. We did a magazine instead. Then we did a few more. A guy named Sean Couch picked up an EBC issue and remembered my name from Blaze. When we met, he said, “We should do a magazine rating all the tournaments in the city.” Then we chose Bobbito Garcia as our first cover subject. He was so amped about the concept, we made him a partner. Eleven issues later, we’re still here, and I’m holding it down as editor in chief. Thanks to our new partners at Dime magazine, people can actually find the magazine these days. So if you play ball, hit me up at jesse@bouncemag.com and let me know what you think of the joint.http://www.bouncemag.com/hari%20kiri.htmlhttp://www.lishlife.blogspot.com/did%20a%20magazine%20instead.htmldid%20a%20few%20more.htmlhttp://www.myspace.com/bobbitogarciafirst%20cover%20subject.htmlhttp://www.dimemag.comfind%20the%20magazine.htmlmailto:jesse@bouncemag.com?subject=http://www.myspace.com/bobbitogarciashapeimage_2_link_0shapeimage_2_link_1shapeimage_2_link_2shapeimage_2_link_3shapeimage_2_link_4shapeimage_2_link_5shapeimage_2_link_6shapeimage_2_link_7shapeimage_2_link_8shapeimage_2_link_9
